Our History
In 2014, Dr. Frank McGehee M.D. and his wife Pam founded Our Mother of Perpetual Help Educational Program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their daughter Brigid, with Down Syndrome, and her homeschool teacher (Natalie Mambretti Lewis, M.Ed. TCU ) were the inspiration to create this unique and successful educational program that has gone on to help so many special students.

Mrs. Lewis began working with Brigid in 2011, and after just a few short months with her, Brigid was excelling in reading, speech, mathematics and social skills – areas in which she had previously struggled. The McGehees quickly concluded that Mrs. Lewis’ unique and extremely successful teaching methods should be shared with other students, and that other teachers could learn from Mrs. Lewis. This was the impetus for founding of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Educational Program.
With its doors officially opened in September of 2014, the Board of Directors requested a four-year pilot program with a group of five students with Down
Syndrome and autism. This was done to ensure documented success with learners of all ages and abilities. This pilot program concluded in September
2018 with a vote of confidence from the Board in all aspects including rapid and positive student progress and excellent business practices.
